  • Internet is a collection of thousands of computers, connect together and access through phone lines and your computer's modem or LAN.
  • We use Internet to seek for information, communicate through Email, chat and video conferencing.
  • Web is part of Internet. Web page is the one you can see when you access a web document, or site on Internet.
  • Web site is a collection of one or more pages on which you can share all sorts of information. It is able to include sound, movies, text and graphics and hyperlinks that allow viewers to move from one page to another by simply clicking a word or phrase.
  • You need a html editing tool to create or design for your web site. For example, Ms. FrontPage or Ms. Publisher.
  • Keep your web site simple. Too many fonts, colours and graphics can clutter your pages and make them difficult to read. In addition, large graphics and photos can spend plenty of time for viewers to load or download. Therefore, keep your images (graphics and photos) small.
  • Create useful interactive buttons. If your web site include more than one page, be sure to include interactive buttons that allow viewers to quickly access your welcome page, previous page, and next page.
  • Create hyperlinks. A hyperlink is an underlined or otherwise emphasized word or phrase that, when clicked with the mouse, displays another document or takes the user to another site. A good web site will offer a number of hyperlinks to allow your viewers to navigate your pages directly to the information they want most.
  • Use different design to identify the different kinds of page objects Title, headings, body text, hyperlinks, and legal disclaimers, should be differentiated by a unique appearance. You can add contrast in several ways: Lines, Typefaces (fonts), and Colours
  • All the similar page objects should look alike. All body text should look the same; all headings should look alike and so on. Giving the similar page objects with different appearances can be extremely confusing to readers.
  • Always use lower case letters
  • Never use punctuation marks except hyphen or underscore
  • No spaces in between words
  • Each page must end with the extension .html (Macintosh) or .htm (Windows).
  • Create a folder to keep your images. You can name it as Images folder.
